Division is multiplication read backwards

Division lands best as reversed multiplication, so the facts sheets use only dividends that come straight from the times tables, and a child can check every answer by multiplying back. That is also why the fact family triangles matter: three numbers in a triangle give you two multiplications and two divisions, and writing all four down turns a division a child cannot recall into one they can reason out. If the tables themselves are shaky, fix that first with our multiplication worksheets, because no amount of division practice will paper over a missing seven times table.

Pictures before the bracket

Before any algorithm, there are pages where the groups are already drawn: rings of dots to count, with the division written underneath. That is division as equal sharing, and it answers the question the symbol never explains. The equal-group pages are worth reprinting whenever a child divides by the wrong one of the two numbers, which is the single most common mistake at this stage.

Long division starts here and continues next door

The long division sheets on this page bring the classic bracket with a dashed box for the quotient and plenty of white space to work in. They climb deliberately: first 2-digit dividends, then 3-digit, then the same again with harder divisors between 6 and 12, and only then with remainders, because the R is a new idea and deserves its own pages. Every dividend is built from the divisor and the quotient, so a sheet that promises no remainders keeps that promise by construction rather than by luck.

That is the introduction.
