Find the first factor in the left column and the second in the top row, then follow that row and column until they cross: the cell where they meet is the product. To find 7 × 8, slide along row 7 to column 8 and read 56. The order never matters, so 8 × 7 lands on the same answer.
A chart to look things up, worksheets to practice
This page is the reference: the whole 1-12 grid sits right above, ready to check any answer against, and every printable version of it lives below. When it is time to practice instead of look up, our multiplication worksheets drill one table per page in shuffled order, and our times table charts give each single table its own poster for the wall. The blank chart is the bridge between the two: fill it in once a week and watch the empty cells disappear.
Choosing a version to print
The color multiplication chart is the friendliest for the wall: every times table row keeps its own color, so kids find their table at a glance. The black and white chart photocopies cleanly for a whole class, the blank chart turns the reference into practice, and the extended 1-20 chart answers the bigger products that show up later. Like the rest of our math worksheets, every PDF prints at 100% scale on US Letter or A4.
When one table is the sticking point
The grid answers every question at once, which makes it a reference rather than practice. If one row is where it goes wrong, work that row on its own page: the 7 times table has eighty printable worksheets and an answer key on page two of each. The row for six is 6 times table worksheets and the row for eight is 8 times table worksheets.
