The big B, the small b, and which way they face
Both shapes of this letter push their weight to the right: the capital carries its two bumps there and the small b its one belly, which is the family likeness that makes the pair easy to learn together. Each gets a page of its own, the pair sheet stands them side by side, the grid hides the B among the D, the P, the R and the 8 it gets mistaken for, and the chart pins it to its place near the front of the alphabet.

Write a plain capital B lightly in pencil. Trace a rounded line a finger's width outside the spine and both bumps, keeping the gap even, and keep the pinch where the two bumps meet so they stay two bumps. Leave both inner holes white, rub out the pencil skeleton, then colour what remains.
The letter with two windows
Nearly every bubble letter has one hole to look after or none at all. The capital B has two, one in each bump, and those two white windows are what keep it a B: paint over them and the shape reads as a swollen D. Of everything a keyboard can type, only the number 8 carries the same double window, and that is exactly the mix-up the find-and-colour grid on this page is built to catch.
The other thing to guard is the waist. The two bumps meet the spine at a pinch about halfway up, and an outline drawn carelessly around the letter fills that pinch in first. Keep it, and keep the lower bump a little fuller than the upper one: a B with a bigger head than belly looks ready to tip over, on a wall display or anywhere else.
The small b has a twin, and the twin is the d
The small b is a tall stick with a round belly, and everything depends on which side the belly sits. Belly on the right of the stick: b. The very same drawing with the belly on the left is not a backwards b at all, it is a d, a different letter that says a different sound. No other pair on the alphabet chart trades places as often in early writing.
The rule that settles it fits on one line: the b keeps its spine on the left and pushes its belly to the right, exactly like its own capital. The belly hunt sheet in the tracing group turns that rule into a game, with mirrored letters hiding in the grid to be caught and crossed out.
Print them in this order
The dotted capital comes first: the outline is already on the paper and a pencil only has to walk round it, bumps, pinch and all. The plain capital and the small b follow, and then the pair sheet, where the capital and the small letter stand side by side and the family likeness does the teaching.
Move to the patterned versions once the plain outline holds. A page of dots or checks inside the letter is steadier work than it looks, because the pattern has to survive the colouring.
The belly hunt, the four step how-to and the empty drawing box are the late game, in that order: first tell the flipped ones apart, then build the letter in stages, then produce one from nothing. The scissor sheets ask for cardstock, and the five word pages close the set because a letter that opens a word is a letter that sticks.
