Fill in the names
Type one name to print it on all 8 tags, or several names separated by commas (one per tag). Leave it empty and download the blank version to write by hand.
How to print name tags that survive the school year
Print any sheet at 100% (choose "actual size" in the print dialog) on US Letter or A4 paper. Each page holds eight identical tags of about 3.7 by 2.2 inches. Type a name in the box above and we print it on all eight tags for you, or leave the box empty, download the blank version and write each name by hand. For tags that last, print on cardstock or full-sheet sticker paper, or laminate them after cutting; plain printer paper is fine for a one-day party or a first-day-of-term label.
Eight themes, and what to use them for
The eight designs are stars, hearts, rainbows, flowers, space, paw prints, polka dots and confetti, so every child can pick a favourite instead of being handed one. They work for classroom desks and cubbies, first-day labels, group tables, reading buddies, coat hooks, folders, lockers, birthday party bags and craft stations. If you type several names separated by commas, the sheet prints one name per tag, which is the fastest way to label a whole table group in one go.
Frequently asked questions
How do I put a name on the tags?
Type the name in the field above the designs, choose a theme and download. That name is printed on all eight tags. For a class list, type several names separated by commas and each tag gets its own name, up to eight per sheet.
Do I need to sign up, and is anything stored?
No sign-up, no email, no account. The PDF is generated on the spot and the names you type are not saved anywhere; nothing about you is stored beyond an anonymous counter of how many tags were generated.
What age are these name tags for?
Any age, but ages 3-10 covers the usual case: preschool cubbies through elementary desks. The name line is printed large, so a preschooler can read their own tag, and there is nothing childish about the plain themes if you need them for an adult workshop or a family event.
Are they free for classroom use?
Yes. Free, unlimited copies, no watermark, for classrooms, homeschools, libraries and parties. You just cannot sell them or re-upload the files elsewhere.
Once the badge is on the desk, the same name goes on the page: the name tracing worksheets set turns it into blank write-in templates, twelve tracing styles and finished sheets for the most printed first names.
The name tag runs the room at the start of the year; the printable exit tickets run it at the end of a lesson, one slip per student in the last three minutes.
