How do you draw bubble letters?

Start with the plain letter as a skeleton, drawn lightly in pencil. Trace a rounded outline a short, even distance around every part of that shape, keeping the gap the same all the way round. Round off each corner so nothing is sharp, then rub out the skeleton inside. Now colour it in.

Bubble letters are letters with rounded, puffed-up shapes that look inflated, like balloons. Because each one is a hollow outline, they are made to be coloured, shaded or filled with patterns, which is why they turn up on posters, bulletin boards, name banners, birthday cards and craft lettering.

Most sheets here print one big letter to colour with a row of smaller ones to trace underneath. The alphabet, number and pattern posters put a whole set on a single page, the banner sheets give you one letter per pennant to cut out and string up, and the ready-made word pages print a full phrase across a landscape sheet. Younger children trace and colour a single letter; older ones can shade them, add patterns or cut the letters out to build whole words.
